OUR STORY
Osteria Trulli was born out of a passion for authentic Italian cuisine and the rich culinary heritage of Italy.A love of real Italian food and Italy's rich culinary legacy led to the founding of Osteria Trulli. The creators wanted to introduce the authentic Italian dining experience to their neighbourhood, motivated by their early recollections of busy family kitchens and the thriving culinary scene in their native country.
Foodies looking for a true Italian dining experience were welcomed to Osteria Trulli, which is tucked away in the centre of Arlington Heights. Inspired by the historic stone houses of Puglia, Italy, the word "Trulli" represents friendliness, warmth, and the allure of rustic Italian living.
The goal of Osteria Trulli has been straightforward since the beginning: to provide mouthwatering, genuine Italian food made with the best ingredients and affection.
We are proud to announce that this week, Chef Giovanni and Osteria Trulli were honored with the prestigious “Marchio Ospitalita Italiana” award at the International Wine Expo. This award certifies the best Italian restaurants worldwide, recognizing our commitment to authentic Italian hospitality and culinary excellence. It is an honor and a privilege to share the best of Italy with you all right here in Arlington Heights. Buon appetito!
Background
DeNigris is a native of the Puglia region and has a close network with local food distributors. He previously ran Trattoria Trullo in Evanston and Lincoln Square, and Macello in the Market District. Cuisine
Osteria Trulli serves Southern Italian dishes like zampina barese (housemade sausages over fava-bean puree), tiella barese (a clay pot dish of potatoes, mussels, and rice), and homemade gnocchi. The restaurant also features a wood-burning oven for pizzas and whole fish.

DeNigris imports ingredients from Puglia or makes them on site. For example, the restaurant's burrata on pizza is made with organic arugula, cherry tomatoes, and mortadella.
